Java Developer

At LVS you will be using Java to create and improve mission critical software for a number of large betting and gaming organisations around the world.

The ideal candidate should be passionate about technology, a team player, with a minimum of 2 years continuous experience developing enterprise applications using Java. The candidate will also have had exposure to a variety of development methodologies, test automation tools, and frameworks like Fit/Fitnesse.

Previous experience in the gaming industry would also be an advantage.

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent core JAVA (5 or newer) development skills
  • Experience of client server applications communicating over http(s)
  • Multithreading applications experience
  • Strong SQL (Oracle preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Tomcat

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience branching and merging using SVN
  • Experience configuring and using Maven2 for building large
    multifaceted projects
  • Experience configuring and using Eclipse IDE
  • SWT
  • Fit/Fitnesse
  • Ruby on Rails exposure

Ruby on Rails Developer

At LVS you will be required to create and improve large high transaction volume sports betting websites for large national organisations. You should be an enthusiastic, junior Ruby on Rails developer.

Maybe you’ve been using PHP for a few years and have recently started playing with Rails or you’ve been using Rails for a while but only in a small/sideline capacity and want to move up to using it in a professional environment.

We’re looking for someone that knows the buzzwords – HTML, CSS, jQuery, JSON, Rails, RSpec, etc but hasn’t necessarily had a chance to learn them fully or use them "in anger". We’ll start you off easy and bring you up to speed working on a major Rails site, helping you learn along the way.

Software Tester

We are seeking an experienced software tester to complement and enhance our existing team.

The main duties of the role are:

  • Functional and non-functional testing of our software
  • The development, documenting, and execution of test cases
  • Issue and defect tracking and reporting
  • The reproduction and validation of issues reported by clients
  • Following up issues to ensure a successful and speedy resolution

Mandatory Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years as a software tester
  • Have tested both front and back end software in web based client/server environments
  • Test automation
  • Familiar with a range of defect and issue tracking software
  • Able to work in a multi-disciplined team environment
  • Organised and methodical in approach
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Attention to detail

Desirable skills:

  • Scripting and coding skills
  • Exposure to SQL databases (ideally Oracle and MySQL)
  • Understanding and appreciation of the SDLC
  • Knowledge of, or accreditation in a formal testing process
  • Have previously worked within the betting and gaming industry
